Ask about IDAHO's new Medicare Supplement Birthday rule!
Medicare may be a federal program, but IDAHO now has a great new Medicare Supplement (Medigap) law known as the "Birthday Rule". This rule gives Idahoans the option of changing their Medicare supplement with NO Medical Underwriting for up 64 days following their birthday. Below are more specifics on how the rule works:
Enrollment can be submitted up to 30 days prior to your actual birthday and 63 days after birthday.
Applicant is replacing current Medicare supplement with a Medicare supplement plan with equal or lesser benefits. You can change carriers as well.
We have always been allowed to apply for Supplement Plan changes but with Medical Underwriting to determine if accepted. NOW we have the opportunity to shop annually for plan changes without worry of acceptance.
The new Idaho law also changed how carriers rate their plans. With the new community rating age is not a factor. Age 95 is same rate as age 65. This is your opportunity to shop for the same coverage at a better price.
